Nerd Prom – Industries Collide at Comic Con NYC

Every year in New York City, self-proclaimed nerds gather as part of what they call “Nerd Prom” to celebrate nerd culture – from comic books and TV shows to all things sci-fi. This year’s New York Comic Con saw a lot of cross-industry collaborations. Big businesses showcased their love for films and pop culture. Campbell’s Soup created a Star Wars display out of 38,000 soup cans.

People in the food industry also got in on the action. For instance, the Fandom Food Truck served specially crafted snacks based on pop culture’s most popular properties, including treats inspired by Rick and Morty, The Walking Dead, Star Wars and Stranger Things. And music artist The Weeknd even announced the upcoming release of a “Starboy” comic book, in partnership with Marvel.
